Ohno Satoshi just won the best Leading Actor for Nikkan Sports drama awards
http://www.nikkansports.com/entertainment/dramagp/top-dramagp.html
^^
He'd done marvelously.

"Just curious, for those who have seen both, are they very similar?"
Similar but not quite. They switched the age of both main characters thus making the "feel" and nuances of the characters to be different from the original. They switched here and there but it was done quite nicely. I happen to love the original but Maou was a good remake as well. It somehow completes the voids left in Mawang but Mawang gave a better understanding for viewers who crave for more out of the plot.

Well I am quite glad that you are enjoying Maou. Despite what anyone has to say about Johnnys Entertainment, they aren't all cast in parts just because of their popularity. If that were the fact then Ohno Satoshi wouldnt have been the choice for the role.

Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge was one of the oddest things I have seen recently. I admit I had to see it because I saw the preview some 100 times or more at work. If one doesnt understand or figure out the symbolism in it it just seems like someone was thinking that a story about a boy and a girl with a sad past meeting is a little boring, so let's add in some chainsaw action. I have to admit, that a half hour into it, the nightly chainsaw fights seemed as normal as if the 2 of them were going out to karaoke everynight... I have been in this country too long.

In a totally unrelated note. To the first poster Sebastiano, fancy seeing you here on tokyograph. It's me, beck!!!!!

I watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo) with my fiancée and we both loved it. Its animation is very good, the story is entertaining and catchy, and the characters are great. A must see!
